Ground down
From a giant rock to a small pebble
Rolled
Tumbled
Washed from the mountains
Dropped into the river
Forced into the current
Worn away inch by inch
Frozen in winter
Blasted by the torrents of spring
Slowly changing
Rounding
Conforming
Becoming what I don’t want to be
Slammed in the rapids
Pushed
Reshaped
Ground down
Warn away
Once proud
Strong
Just a fragment of what used to be
Now just a small pebble washing into the mighty sea…
…and yet to come, pebble to sand 🙂
This is an excellent piece. I can feel the wearing down of life – I hinted at it in my own poem Christmas… I totally feel it when you said, “Once proud/Strong/Just a fragment of what used to be…”
Great write.
Another powerful piece.
You use words so… Perfectly. Great piece!
Becoming what I don’t want to be
direct & curious…. like the way it moves!
Wow gosh!
